California Approves a New Smog Testing Program

A new regulation has been approved for truck owners in the state of California. The new “smog check” regulation will require twice a year reporting on each truck’s particulate and nitrous oxide emission to the state. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) that this requirement could be met by using data gathered from onboard telematics. The goal is to offer fleets multiple ways of meeting the new mandate. The telematics option is a great way for a fleet to meet their day-to-day operational needs and comply with the new regulation.
